NCRP promotes philanthropy that serves the public good, is responsive to people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity, and is held accountable to the highest standards of integrity and openness.
What area of the country do you work in?
USA - National
Who do you work with?
NCRP works with individuals, nonprofit organizations, and foundations across the country. Recognizing that we would not be as effective if we worked with only foundations, we make a concerted effort to collaborate with our colleagues in the nonprofit world and the media, as well as with local, regional, and national policy makers.
What is the main obstacle your organization encounters that prevents you from doing your work most effectively?
During NCRP's 30 years of investigating and researching philanthropy, we have asserted positions based on solid research and strong data-- even when the findings were not necessarily popular within some parts of the nonprofit sector. Building support and coalitions for this work that connects to major policy change is challenging.
What do you hope to gain from joining the Rural Innovation Network?

It has been too long. I so miss connecting with you every now and again. I will be in the area I think at some point in March so I want to schedule some time together...maybe I can come to the office and see the team!
Welcome Welcome! Sorry I haven't reached out before now (been on the road a bit since you left your message). We miss you! I am in the office for the next couple of weeks. We really do need to catch-up on life.
Thanks for this tidbit. I am actually reading SOP 2004 right now! Working my way back from the most current one in 2006. Congratulations to you and the team for this great network. I will be in touch soon to talk about my upcoming visit to NC.
Hello Melissa. Good to see you on RIN. There is a paper posted in the Rural Development Philanthropy group about Rural Philanthropy on the Move. It was done for the NCRP State of Philanthropy 2004 edition. Hope you get a chance to read it if you haven't seen it already.
